12 Hours in Yreka
Dec. 18th, 2010 09:26 amThere was no snow accumulation overnight in Yreka, and it was rather pretty this morning after breakfast, when I went for a walk in the morning sunshine. It looks like it's still snowing in the hills above Yreka to the west, and I had to watch my step, because there were icy spots on the sidewalks where they were shaded from the rising sun.
Current weather projections and the Oregon highway conditions web page are saying that there's packed snow at the summit, but no chain restrictions, so I'd better get out of here before more weather moves in on me. Besides, I need to take it nice and easy over the snowy bits even if chains aren't required. I'd rather get there in one piece, after all.
