Railroad Floor Show
Oct. 2nd, 2011 09:42 pmLast night, as I was brushing my teeth, I heard a crash from outside. "Sounds like a train has stopped hard out there," I told Lisa. We had a look outside, and saw that a freight was pulling to a halt and a crew member had been riding on the back of the train. We went out on the porch and watched for a while as the crew switched the two sidings across the street from Fernley House. We went back inside after they pulled the cars out of the siding that had been parked there since Friday. This morning, we found another cut of cars in the siding, and we figure that those cars had been left there by the same train.
Lisa has talked of installing a light on the front of the house that would better illuminate the area. (It's very dark there.) She figures that as long as it didn't get in their eyes, the crews doing night switching might appreciate it, too.
