A-Shelving We Will Go
Oct. 31st, 2011 07:36 amLisa has had a bad experience with Ikea in the past, but it was primarily eating in their cafeteria, not with their furniture, and after examining the Billy bookshelves I brought up from California on my past trip, she asked me to buy a couple more of the same kind (the medium-brown finish). But when I went to the store to buy them, I found that for the brown and black finishes, Ikea has switched to Chinese sources for the wood. The white-finish shelves are still from Sweden, and they cost less, so after checking with Lisa, I bought three of them and transported them to Fernley on this load.

Speaking of heavy things, the washer and dryer from Lowe's are scheduled for arrival sometime today. We won't be able to connect them until the additional plumbing and electrical work is done, which may be a while because we're basically running out of money for this year. It would have been so much easier if we'd been able to buy the house for our original bid instead of $15,000 more than that.
