Most Wonderful Time of Year

I drove to Fernley yesterday afternoon and am working from here today. I think I much prefer getting out of the Bay Area on a Thursday to a Friday, because I didn't get stuck at Sacramento with the clot of other Bay Area folks heading to Tahoe for the weekend mixing it up with Sacramento's own commute-time traffic.

The weather here in Fernley is nearly ideal: not too hot and not too cold. Lisa is frustrated because she's still feeling the horrible after-effects of that wretched cold she carried to Chicago and back. With the weather so nice, she wants to get out and do more painting (suspended during the hot part of summer because the paint was drying too fast — before she could get it off the brush, basically — but when she tried to do so, she suffered a relapse of the "walking pneumonia" that's been bedeviling her for almost a month now.
