Good Exercise

After lunch today, I took the new splitting maul we bought in Fallon yesterday and went after the oversize pieces of wood. Our fireplace has a very small mouth, so there are always a few pieces of wood that are too big to fit through the door. After a few minutes I realized one of the reasons they were usually oversize was that they were so full of knots that they'd fought the power-splitters that the firewood place uses. But I managed to chip some of the pieces down to burnable size. (One of those pieces is heating the living room as I write this.) Then it was away with the maul and back to the keyboard, as there was Day Jobbery to be done.
