Dodged Another Weather Bullet

When I got up this morning, I had to sweep snow off the porch to get to the wood box in order to build a fire. It was wet, gloppy snow, and the temperatures weren't quite cold enough for it to stick on the sidewalk, only the wood steps. I'm sure glad this happened today when we have no required errands and don't have to be out in it than yesterday, where it would have made driving over Donner treacherous.

After a few hours, the sun came out and most of the snow began to melt, particularly everything on the east-facing surfaces of the house.
