Early Departure
Jul. 18th, 2013 07:17 amI've been confronted with a commitment that requires my physical presence in the Bay Area on Friday, so instead of heading down on Sunday, I'll be leaving this afternoon. Lisa will follow me into Reno, we'll use a 2-for-1 coupon at the Atlantis buffet for lunch, and she'll get some shopping done while dispatching me westward. (As her pickup is not air conditioned, it's worth her while to get the shopping in Reno done today rather than over the weekend, as it's going to get a lot hotter over the next few days, with highs into the low 40's C.)

It's slightly cheaper to spend the money on the extra hotel nights than to go down tonight, deal with the business on Friday, then go home and then back to the Bay Area on Sunday. But more importantly, those eight-hour drives (one way) are such that I now try to avoid doing them unless I must do so.
