Coffee Garden

Along the front fence of this house there is a verge set off by bricks, where previous owners planted trees and other plants. I have decided upon a small experiment. Given how well our two rose bushes have reacted to being watered with coffee squeezings (and the water from cooking pasta), I've dug a shallow trench in the verge and will be putting the coffee grounds in it and covering it back up with dirt. Later this year I may try to plant some flowers (maybe some California poppies) and see if they like the caffeinated soil. Lisa saw me doing this and said, "You'll never get a coffee tree to grow in this climate, you know."
