kevin_standlee: (Fernley)
A couple of nights ago, a forecast 2% chance of rain turned into 100% for a short time (and that happened yesterday as well). Yesterday morning, when I went out for a short walk before breakfast, I was surprised at what I saw on the mountains to the west of Fernley.

A Bit Early for It )

I wouldn't mind us getting a pretty wet winter, but I want it to hold off for a couple more weeks, because we're planning on doing that concrete work soon and we need dry weather to do it. Also, the pile of wood is still in the front yard. We (mostly Lisa) have been shifting it to the wood pile as time permits, but it's a lot of wood to move.

Mind you, in general I prefer this chilly weather we're having this week to the heat. It's easier to heat this place than to cool it. Time to start clearing out the area around the fireplace. We have our annual chimney sweeping scheduled for a week from Saturday.
