Fire Call Follow Up
Apr. 5th, 2017 04:20 pmI wrote about the severe house fire down the street a few days ago. Today while I was out for a walk to get the mail after lunch, I ran across the fire chief. (This is not uncommon; the route to the post office goes right past the station.) I asked after the woman who was pulled from the fire, and he let me know that unfortunately, she died of her injuries.
Apparently the cause of the fire was that the woman had been smoking while also on oxygen (via a cannula like my sister uses much of the time). This is a very dangerous combination, and led to a catastrophe.
