Tis the Season for Appliance Failures
Dec. 25th, 2017 02:56 pmThis Christmas morning I did the fairly mundane chore of doing a couple of loads of laundry. This afternoon, while Lisa and I were in the laundry area, I noticed that there appeared to be damp on the floor. Sure enough, the washing machine has started leaking. Not a flood (even I would have noticed that), but something is leaking. No total diagnosis yet, although Lisa does have some ideas. Possibly tomorrow she will undertake to investigate further.
It's not a catastrophe, but it's going to be a big nuisance no matter what. We could probably replace it with the equivalent model from Lowe's, where we bought this one, and they'll both deliver the new one and remove the old one. Lisa will see if she can figure out a repair rather than a replacement. But today we are busy with Christmas dinner. Probably just as well it's just us here.
