Nothing by Comparison
Mar. 2nd, 2018 08:44 pmCompared to the large-scale snow up on Donner Summit, or the nor'easter slamming the east coast, the 6 cm of snow we got last night was no big deal. Lisa has been awake nights of late and kept the walk and porch swept before going to bed a little while after I started work this morning. We then had four or five hours of clear weather with bright sun, and I spread ice-melt on the sidewalk and Oil-Dry absorbent on the wooden porch to deal with the ice and melt through the day. Around the time my work day ended (and Lisa got up), snow started falling again. We made a quick trip to the grocery store to get some supplies, Lisa made dinner, and by the time we were done with that, two or three more cm of snow fell. We didn't feel safe going for a post-dinner walk (too icy), but instead got our exercise by sweeping the porch and sidewalks.
We have no plans for this weekend, which is good. I'm not sure I'll go any farther from the house than the Wigwam restaurant or the bowling alley, if that.
