Turn of the Seasons
Mar. 19th, 2021 09:32 pmAs if on cue on this final full day of northern hemisphere winter, it got warm enough that I let the fire burn out and dug the ashes. This was only one of a handful of days since last autumn where there's been no fire at all in the fireplace. However, I don't expect we're done with the wood stove yet for the season, and have laid the start of another fire in it so as soon as it turns cold enough again (which might be as soon as tomorrow) I only have to set a match to the pile of newspapers, fire-starter, and kindling, and off we go again.
Because of the long hours I was working this past week, I was able to quit slightly early today, but I still spent much of the day at my own computer at the same desk dealing with things like the agenda for one of the two non-profit corporations on whose boards I sit that are meeting tomorrow.
