With Worldcon in December, all of our usual patterns for people used to the cycle of Worldcons are out of whack. The next deadline about which I have to concern myself is the deadline for submitting new business to this year's meeting. Any two or more members of DisCon III (including supporting or virtual members) may sponsor proposals to change the WSFS Constitution, which includes the rules for the Hugo Awards and the selection of future Worldcons. Although you do not have to be an attending members to submit proposals, you do have to attend the meeting in order to debate and vote on proposals.
To submit an item for this year's agenda, send it to businessmeeting@discon3.org. For more information about the Business meeting, see DisCon III's Guide to the WSFS Business Meeting. There is a lot of business already passed on from last year, so much so that we're currently making our plans assuming that we'll need to hold an "overflow" meeting on the last day of the convention (Sunday), so you may want to make your plans with that in mind.
