Recovery Day

I foolishly did not originally book today off. I have to remember that it's not as easy to recover from these sorts of trips as it was thirty years ago. However, by the time we got home last night, I knew that I was going to need a day of recovery. Unfortunately, there are some things I was committed to do with the Day Jobbe at 4 AM today. I warned my manager overnight of what I would be doing, put the day off into the system, dragged myself out of bed at 4 AM, did the committed things, and went back to bed at 6 AM and slept another six hours.

I'm only fatigued, not otherwise sick in any way that I can determine. Nothing that sleep won't repair. But I'm glad that I've booked the entire two weeks around Westercon 74 off already (without having to do Day Jobbe stuff during it), and booked the hotel room in Tonopah for several days post-convention. Although of course the day after Westercon 74 is move-out-of-the-convention-center day, if Lisa and I have to spend the day after that sleeping, we've got the time to do so.
