Until I can get the Astro back to the air conditioning shop to see if the issue with the coolant leak might possibly be covered by their warranty, going out for errands during the day is a deeply unpleasant chore. Also, Lisa is currently sleeping during the day and doing most of her stuff at night because it's cooler then. Consequently, when we wanted to do a grocery shopping run to WinCo Foods in Reno (which is open 24 hours), it made sense to do so in the wee hours of the morning. Yesterday, I went to bed myself as early as I could and we headed to Reno at 2 AM. At that hour, the temperatures are quite comfortable and there is hardly any traffic. Also, there weren't that many customers in the store and fewer employees stocking shelves that we've often encountered when we've done this before, so dodging people was easier. Including a stop to refuel at one of Fernley's truck stops (again, cooler and quieter than during the day), our round-trip was just over two hours, which is pretty good.
Although we got home about the time that I normally get up to start work, the short "night" sent me back to bed just after sunrise to sleep for a few more hours. I still managed to get a useful chore accomplished, about which I will write later this week when the last step of it is done.
