Shopping and Ankle Update
Feb. 15th, 2023 06:47 pmThe rental wheelchair has to go back on Friday, so Lisa suggested that we go do grocery shopping today. This went pretty well, although it's tiring for both of us. WinCo Foods does have a couple of electric scooters, but they were either in use or needing to be recharged, so we managed as best as we could. I pushed Lisa's chair with the shopping cart on straight stretched, and did all of the fetching and carrying. Lisa normally packs the groceries because she knows where she wants things stored, so she can pre-stage it; in this case, I of course needed to do all of the packing.
The days are of course getting longer, and we got home and unloaded by sunset, even with me having to do all of the carrying. Lisa can hobble around the travel trailer pretty well, and after I put the groceries away, she invited me to inspect how well her left foot is doing a week after she initially injured it.
( TMI Warning: Bruises Ahead )
Lisa reports that at need, she can put some weight on the ankle, but by no means can she put any lateral stress on it. This makes sense given that this is mostly ligament damage. It's good to see that it's getting better, though. Lisa continues to tell me how boring things are when all she can do is rest and recuperate.
