A couple of nights ago, we had a wind storm with gusts reported at up to 40 km/h (a "Fresh Breeze" on the Beaufort Scale). This it not that unusual, nor unfortunately is the air filling up with fine dust, as people who go to Burning Man know. However, we heard an unusual sound outside the house and investigated. The pictures below are from the following morning after Lisa made temporary repairs and the wind died down.
( Imminent Gutter Failure Averted )
Permanent repairs to the roof gutter are pending Lisa coming up with a plan. We do have an extension ladder that she thinks should reach the upper roof, so it's more a case of determining what she'll need to take with her up there to re-attach that gutter and brace it to keep it from blowing off again. I'm just grateful that she heard the banging and came up with a quick temporary fix, inasmuch as replacing the entire gutter would surely be more expensive and complicated.
