kevin_standlee: The SERVICE ENGINE SOON indicator light on Kevin's Chevrolet Astro minivan. (Service Engine Soon)
Yesterday morning, I intended to drive over to Grocery Outlet to get some perishables (and use the about-to-expire $5 off $25-or-more coupon they were offering) relatively early when they wouldn't be crowded. So into the Astro I went and turned the key.

Click.

Nothing. Again. I had not left the lights on when I came back from a trip to Reno over the weekend. There was nothing obviously wrong.

I told Lisa, who told me to take the Rolling Stone to do the errands, which I did. As I came back home, I saw that the minivan was now parked on the south side of the house in front of the garage instead of the north side in front of the house. That was good news.

Lisa said that this was a variation of the same problem we had in Idaho, and that she thinks we need to replace the positive battery cable and the connection from that cable to the Astro's power feeds. However, for the moment, the "fix" is to wiggle the positive cable until the power comes back.

It was too wet and cold to work on vehicles that much on Sunday, so we'll wait until things dry out and warm up before getting back to the pending repairs, which still includes replacing the EGR valve.
