Oct. 7th, 2023 07:42 amWe planned to go to Reno about 2:30 AM so we could go our grocery shopping in relative peace at WinCo Foods. After stopping at the Pilot gas station in Fernley to refuel, I tried to start the car.

Well, we though this was simple enough, so Lisa got out, popped the hood, and tried wiggling that battery cable again. Nothing. She fiddled for a while and briefly got the lights to come back on, but then she realized that the real issue was not the positive (red) cable, but the negative (black) one, which was loose. Unfortunately, that cable is difficult to tighten with the side-mount battery and cables we have because it's in a badly constricted area. However, after much fussing, she managed to get it tightened and off we went.
It was indeed very quiet at WinCo, and our shopping went easily enough. We eventually got home shortly after 6 AM.
Lisa is considering buying new battery cables and a new battery and switching the Astro from side-post to top-post batteries, which are much easier to access.
