Astro Update

This afternoon, I got a call from Wild West Chevrolet in Yerrington, where the Astro has been sitting waiting extensive repairs. This time, the news was pretty good: They were able to source the more difficult parts and most of the heavy repairs are now done. They even think that they can get the rear air conditioning and heating working again, which would be very welcome news. They wanted to confirm that they should proceed with getting the parts for the rear Heater/AC, and I said yes. It sure would have been nice to have the full AC working for the trip to Canada last year!

They say the cost does seem to still be within the original estimate of around $5000. While this is a lot of money, it's much less than buying a new vehicle, and should keep us rolling for a lot longer. Besides, a newer vehicle isn't in the cards. Lisa doesn't want one. If we had to get a replacement, we'd be in the market for a fairly old used vehicle.
