Sleeper Shower Disappointment

Sometime in the wee hours of the morning, I got up to use the en suite toilet in our Caledonian Sleeper shower/toilet compartment. I stepped into the compartment and got a shock of cold in my feet.



There was 1-2 cm of water in the floor of the shower compartment. Neither Lisa nor I had used the shower, nor was there any obvious overflow from the toilet. The water would not drain. I speculate that water had backed up through the drain, flooding the floor of our shower.

Under that circumstances, I choose not to use the shower that morning, even though I'd paid for it, I did call the issue to the attention of our car attendant, however.

Worldcon Trip Day 15: Welcome to Glasgow

Lisa and I had the Full Scottish Breakfast in the dining car on board the Caledonian Sleeper, and were in the final seating, so we were just finishing breakfast as the train pulled in to Glasgow Central. We made it to Glasgow, and it was the day before Worldcon.

Lisa doesn't care for Indian food, so I was happy to be invited out to dinner at a local Indian restaurant. This might be my last relaxed dinner out for the entire Worldcon. With the schedule we have for the Business Meeting, I'm not expecting late evenings. I'm too old to burn the candle at both ends the way I once did.
