Our Private Stonehenge

kevin_standleeI happened to wake up before sunrise this morning and planned on taking a photo of sunrise over our own private landmark noting the northern limit of the sun at our latitude.
I took this photo, which is obviously being backlit by the sun that would have blinded the camera completely a few seconds later, from the front porch of Fernley House. Normally, it would have been of the sun rising over the asphalt plant; however, the parked train on Fernley siding blocked the usual view.
That train has been parked here all day. I don't know why, because I haven't had the radio scanner turned up to listen.
I'm happy that now the days will start getting shorter. Because of my work hours, I'd be much happier if Nevada observed year-round standard time, because the late evenings make it that much harder for me to get to sleep. If I put in the "blackout" plug in the window, the room gets stifling. If I leave it out, it's too bright to easily sleep until after 9 PM.
