Worldcon Hotel Reservations

Worldcon 80 (Chicon 8) hotel reservations are open. I was able to mostly book what I wanted, but an Amtrak issue complicates things.
When I made our train reservations for the Reno-to-Chicago round-trip, the day we wanted to leave Chicago for the return was already sold out for bedrooms. Yes, all ten bedrooms were already sold out months in advance. So we're coming back one day later than we originally wanted to do so. That's okay, except that Chicon's post-convention "shoulder" nights do not extend far enough beyond the convention to cover the night before we leave.
I've put in a request to the hotel liaison to see if we can get that extra shoulder night. If we can't get it, then we'll need to waste part of a day of our post-convention vacation switching hotels. Lisa and I had to change hotels like that because it means time we'd rather be seeing things is instead spend packing, moving, and unpacking. However, if we have to move, we'll move, probably spending most of our post-con days at the Crowne Plaza in Greektown where we have now stayed several times. My IHG Diamond status (formerly Spire; IHG rebranded the program) will be put to good use there, and I may be able to use points for part of the stay. It's also closer to Chicago Union Station.
We'll still need taxis to move between hotels and between hotels and Union Station, because we'll be traveling heavy.
