Halloween Surprise

Kuma Bear dressed up for Halloween, but neither Lisa nor I did so.

This year he wore his Danger Mouse costume and posed with this year's Jack-O-Lantern, who co-starred as Danger Bear's sidekick, Penfold Pumpkin.
At 4 PM, we headed for Reno to run a couple of shopping errands (and to let Kuma Bear show off). About halfway there, we encountered a long slowdown. As the place we needed to be closed at 6 PM, by the time it got to about 5:30 (yes, it was that slow), we decided to bail once we got to the Patrick exit and we went home.
It's a good thing we went home. As we were unloading our coats and bags from the Astro, something happened that has never happened at Fernley House in the entire time we've lived here (we moved here in 2011): we had a trick-or-treater! Seriously, we've never had any kids here. I gave the one kid we had here (I wish I'd remembered to take a picture) a couple of individually wrapped fig cookie bars and told him he was our first trick-or-treater in more than ten years. He said that his father (driving the car that had brought him here) said our house looks like a serial killer's lair, which seemed a bit harsh to me, but if anyone else thinks that, it might explain the lack of traffic.
