Nailing It

As I type this, it was a week ago that Kayla visited for the day. I decided that I liked her nail polish sufficiently that I would keep wearing it for a few days.

Besides how I was matching it to other colors, I like the name of this color: "Across the Multiverse." Lisa had no issue with me continuing to wear it this past week. Besides, I've been having problems with chipping nails, and this stuff does seem to toughen them up a little. I touched up some chips before flying to Seattle yesterday. A few people who follow this journal or my FB page commented on them. A few others asked about them, and I explained a bit about Kayla. Sometimes more than a bit, actually.
I note that until I got to SMOFCon, where I'm surrounded by friends, nobody had made any comments at all anywhere else. I'm not complaining. I just find it interesting.
Some of my friends already knew about Kayla, while others are only just learning about her. But everyone has been very nice and understanding. It is so nice to have friends who don't reject you for being a little outside the average.
But speaking of interesting, I had to leave an interesting panel at SMOFCon this afternoon about managing online social media crises, because I did not get enough sleep last night, and I have to help out with the Montreal Worldcon bid, which co-sponsoring tonight's Con Suite. Falling asleep in the panel would be bad. I have retreated to the hotel room and am going to take a nap for a while.

Like you, the effort of nail polish while keeping nails very short is more than I can be bothered with. I actually keep the other hand some long though, because I like the way it feels to have long nails.
