I still can't figure out why the power supply would make a difference on wireless connectivity. I have two different power supplies for this Dell. If I plug in one of them, I can't connect. If I plug in the other, I can connect. Strange.

Glad I was actually watching as the game kicked off; otherwise I would have missed the opening fireworks. And speaking of fireworks, while watching Prince's halftime show, I kept wondering if someone was going to get electrocuted operating all of those electric devices in the rain.

Best ad of the first half, IMO: The Garmin "Ultraman" commercial.

They lipsync the music for the Super Bowl Halftime show. The electrical devices weren't plugged in even. It would be the only way people could hear it. I am hoping for a Chicago win, but it doesn't look good.

They also lipsync because of the approximate 7 second delay from microphone to speakers; it messes with the heads of the performers.

My only guess is that dell discovered that people had wireless difficulties with their AC adapters and quietly put an itty bitty faraday cage of mesh around the unit or sunk in the plastic of the case.

That commercial rocked. Of course, the kick-off return for a TD also rocked. Pity that seemed to be about it for DaBears.

Garmin has turned the commecial into a 2 1/2 minute video and it's on You Tube.
It can be found here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taRPwYe1EYA&eurl=
Garmin has been posting a lot of stuff to You Tube. You can just do a search on that for more silly stuff.

Two possibilities with the power supply - as [livejournal.com profile] danjite pointed out, it could be RF interference, and it can also be one supply is delivering lower amperage. Wireless cards, especially built-in ones, are known to not work as well on batteries as they do plugged in, it's a short leap to one power supply working better than another.

Did not like the Garmin ad as much as I would have with less electric guitar and more musicality. And they should have started with the map turning into a monster, not waited till they had already introduced the character. I liked the ending of the Fedex In Space commercial. And was somewhat shocked that a drug company did the heart commercial as a total blatant capitalistic pointer to their web site when they could have afforded to be generous and include the heart and diabetes associations. And yes, the diabetes character was a hottie, and really should have been a 500-lb middle aged woman in sweats. The ad hit home because this week I go in for the glow-in-the-dark treadmill heart test.
