Travel Travails

Lisa called this afternoon to tell me that her pickup truck broke down in Tonopah, Nevada. She can guess what's wrong, but needs to have a mechanic look at it. More news when I find out more. On the bright side, she was able to nurse the truck into Tonopah and get a hotel room before it quit running entirely, and thus she was not stuck out on a desolate stretch of US-95. Thank goodness this did not happen while we were out in the boondocks northwest of Pyramid Lake.

Exactly. Having lived in the Eastern Sierra metropolis of Bishop for a couple of years, I understand the relative nature of these things. Tonopah is not quite as isolated as, say, Flanigan.
