[livejournal.com profile] gil_liant helpfully bought one of the three sets of two Giants tickets I have that I cannot use. Time is growing short on the others, and I would like to try and get some of our money back for them, so I've posted them on StubHub. But I'd prefer to sell them without having to pay StubHub's 15% commission, so if you're interested in buying these tickets ($33 each, which is what I paid for them), let me know and I can do a direct sale to you. But you don't have much time.

Once again, the seats are Lower Box 135, Row 13, Seats 9 and 10. Price is $33 each, or $66 for the pair, and they do not include parking. (I'm open to other offers if you're interested in the games but find the price to be too high.)

The games in question are:

Friday, May 9, vs. Phillies, 7:15 PM

Thursday, May 15, vs. Astros, 12:45 PM

The seat location is down the left field line. LB135 is the last section in lower box before the big open area between lower box and bleachers, where vehicles access the field and where baseballs going over the fence bounce away into oblivion. It looks like LB135 might be a good place to have a home run or just-foul long shot come to you, without the risk of having your head taken off implicit in the closer-in lower box seats.

In the interest of mending my own curiousity, BTW, why don't they include parking? I thought all season ticket deals came with parking included -- in which case whoever the 'holder of record' is for the entire season ticket package would theoretically have a parking pass or whatever that they can't use for that game (since they don't have the tickets).

Were these tickets actually part of a 'mini-package' (like a 10-game deal) that doesn't include any kind of parking privilege?

This is a full-season plan -- all 81 games were in play, divided up among many people. As I'd never drive to a Giants game unless my life depended on it, it was never an issue to me, so I didn't ask. I think that parking isn't necessarily part of a season-ticket plan; you can buy the tickets with or without parking included, and since not all of the people who buy tickets are interested in parking, the coordinator of the plan didn't buy parking. I know I would have been less interested in buying a share of the plan if I'd been obliged to buy parking passes I did not want and would not use.

Ok, thanks for the info. Do you know if the coordinator ever drives themselves -- or even if they would be able to buy a one-day parking pass at a season ticket holder discount?

We will probably end up driving to the game, and anything within reasonable measures to make it a happier experience is probably something I should at least ask about -- especially given sufficient advance time.

I have no idea. I'd actually suggest that driving to a Caltrain station and taking the train is a better idea (much less traffic congestion in and out of the game). I'll write to the person who coordinates the tickets and see if there is anything that can be done.

Here's the reply from the coordinator:
The only option we had was to buy passes to all 80 games and not everyone wants to drive and park. There are some less expensive private lots in the area but I have not used them. Best way is to go early and drive around looking for them. They all should be 4 to 5 blocks from the park.
Again, my preferred alternative is to take Caltrain -- drive to a station and ride the train to and from the game. The first post-game train (20 minutes after last pitch) is an express that skips all stops north of San Carlos, then makes all stops thereafter. I'll admit that this probably costs about as much (for two people) as parking, but you don't have to fight the snarl of traffic into The City and out of the parking lots.
