My eyes still won't focus most of the time, but the offset has decreased. I think that, slowly, my left eye is starting to re-converge with the right. Yesterday, we bought me an eye patch so that I can work at the computer and read more easily. (It's quite tiring to work at keeping one eye closed.) Yes, a photo will be available eventually.

Ambleopia (phoenic spelling) runs in my family, and even though it's a male-dominant trait, my niece had to wear a patch over one eye as a small child. My father and my brother also have ambleopia, but not much was known about it when my dad was young, and my brother always refused to wear the patch. Interestingly, my nephew seems to have escaped the eye trouble, and since he's male, I don't think he's even a carrier.

I went through a minor run of double vision last year.

I ended up with a prism on my glasses for 9 months.

When I injured my face in a fall a couple of years ago, I drove the eye doctors at Addenbrookes crazy. Apparently, my eyes don't actually talk to each other, and probably never have. Sometime in my early childhood my brain developed a coping mechanism. I see out of one eye or the other as needed. That must be why I never looked like I was aiming for the shot I intended to make when playing pool. My right eye has always been weaker than the left, but it didn't cross noticeably unless I was very tired or ill. It is far more obvious now, and I tend to be very self-conscious about it.
