Errands in the Rain

Today was a day for getting routine errands done. I would have walked the mile or so to my barber, but it was raining too hard, so I drove there, then took the van to get the oil changed, then did some grocery shopping and (after picking up lunch from the new Hawaiian BBQ that opened up in the Fremont Hub) collecting a replacement control knob for the washing machine in my unit. This took much longer than I would have thought it would.
The amount of rice in the Hawaiian BBQ worried me slightly, but the rain had let up by then, so I was able to get out for a walk down to the train station. It may just be a sign of how busy that stretch of track is, but nearly every time I walk down there, I see one or two trains. Today it was an eastbound freight, with a west (south) bound Capitol a few minutes later. Anyway, an hour after eating, my blood sugar was 118, which is just fine, so I guess I continue to do the right things. I still shouldn't have eaten the entire lunch, as it was too big. I should have split it in half and had the rest for dinner later tonight.
