When I was taking out the trash this morning, I found the dessicated remnants of a Christmas tree in our dumpster.

My goodness. Were there any needles on the thing? It is a sheer miracle that it didn't catch fire.

Amazingly, it still had a bunch of brown needles gamely trying to hold on to its drooping branches. I, too, thought of how it was essentially a large piece of kindling waiting to explode. Fortunately, the apartments here are so well-insulated that nobody has to run the heat very often or use their gas fireplaces.
