Quiet Is Good

I "slept in" so to speak, but only relative to Eastern time. Aside from going out to get a little bit of groceries around 9 AM, I deliberately laid low today, watching the football playoffs, Australian Open tennis, and sleeping some. And yes, working some as well, because ideas continue to bounce around in my head and there's still a lot of unfinished business on my project. I do wish I could take at least one or two more days off to sleep, but I suspect that even if I did, I'd be "chased by demons," as I call it, and have to get back to writing more code. Meanwhile, I'll get sleep when I can.
However, I did have some unwanted excitement as the kitchen sink started backing up. I couldn't have been anything I did, but unfortunately something about the drains around here causes them to back up ever few months no matter what I do -- it's a problem with the common pipes. I called the management, who sent the usual plumber, who showed up during the third quarter of the Vikings-Saints game, cleared the pipes, and was on his way. As excitement goes, it was small scale, and right now, I don't need any excitement in my life.
