While making a brief stop for groceries at Safeway last night, this Duran Duran song played over the in-store music, and I haven't been able to get it out of my head. I had to go look up the lyrics, too, and that led me to a YouTube cut of if.

It's only the chorus that I can get rid of. The verse is, I agree, completely unmemorable.

Songs with infinitely catchy choruses bizarrely matched with utterly unmemorable verses have been around for a long time. They were very popular in the early 20th century, so much so that the verses have often been forgotten and many don't even know they exist. Have you ever heard the verses to "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" or to "Daisy Bell" (the part of the song that HAL doesn't sing to Dave)?
