I am still too wrung out from trying to recover from food poisoning at OryCon to write that much, but briefly let me refer you over to Cheryl's web site where she talks about Dark Spires, the first book for sale from Wizards Tower Press.
Besides the fact that it should be an enjoyable read, people who wondered what they might be able to do for Cheryl after hearing the screwed-up way the US government treated her when she tried to visit the USA should know that buying stuff from WTP (including Salon Futura) is right now one of the best things you can do for her.

Date: 2010-11-18 12:56 am (UTC)(To review: The US border-entry people said she'd been rejected for a visa when the US State Department said she had not, although they'd handed her application back to her saying, "You don't need a visa; use the Visa Waiver Program." She took the State Department's word for it. The border-entry people said, "You were rejected for a visa, so you lied on your visa-waiver form, and out you go; also, you can never, ever use Visa Waiver again." Even if it's possible to prove that the ICE was wrong, the fact that they tossed her even though it wasn't her fault makes her permanently ineligible for VWP, so she must get a visa if she's ever going to be able to visit the USA ever again. Yes, that's stupid. Welcome to the United States of Paranoia.)
