Gumbo Dumbo

Working from
travelswithkuma's advice to not eat frozen fish while it's still crunchy, I took a package of frozen shrimp out of the freezer a couple of days ago and let it defrost. I intended to use a shrimp gumbo boxed mixture that I bought at Cost Plus to make a pot of shrimp gumbo. After letting it simmer for the requisite period of time, I tasted it. Seemed pretty weak. It was only then that the light dawned and I realized that I'd read "cups" as "pints" and put in twice as much water as I should have done. Stupid ACS units. I couldn't unmix it, so instead I made a bunch more rice and mixed it in to bulk it out somewhat.
Not surprisingly, the resulting soupy stuff is pretty bland, so it needs lots of hot sauce, but on the bright side, I get about eight meals out of it.
