Kevin Standlee: Fandom Is My Way of Life

Looks like we got us a ConCom.

I saw this when I got in to Fernley tonight, making excellent time. (300 miles in six hours even with traffic slowdowns in Sacramento, although not the freeway-strangling mess of last week.)

I want to perform this one somewhere. It's too long for a Masquerade entry, but boy it would be fun!

There are lots of annoying commercials out there, but one I heard just as I was pulling in to the parking lot at work today has been troubling me every time I hear it.

Maybe the commercial is meant to be funny and I'm just not getting the joke or hearing intended irony in it.

Thanks to fine hoaxes like these, no sane person will issue a legitimate news story on the first day of April. Every now and then, I've see groups in Fandom forget the date and issue a real announcement that day. Sometimes the announcements are so odd that people assume that they must be hoaxes.

I've been asked if I've been offended by an article that appeared in The Drink Tank #156, which just came out this week. (Caution: link leads to a PDF.) I said, "Offended? Considering how many people and groups are being skewered, I think I would have been offended if I didn't appear!"
