Switching it Up
Feb. 4th, 2015 08:04 pmOn our way home from the post office and getting propane a couple of days ago, Lisa and I saw that the local BNSF switch crew had received a new locomotive and was in the process of swapping one unit for another.
( More train pictures, of course )
While this locomotive swap was taking place, "Big BN" (which had dropped off the new unit) was getting ready to depart on the main; a UP freight was passing on the siding, and a UP signal maintainer was driving through (visible in this picture). Fernley can be quite the railroad hot spot, even though it's "merely" a through siding on the UP mainline.
