Total hits yesterday on the Hugo Awards web site: 27,140. Not quite a record, but large, and not evenly spaced. Traffic now falling off sort of pointing back to normal usage levels, but we'll see what happens on Monday when some of the mainstream news sites may pick it up as they have in the past.

Kevin, if you have the time, might you consider a post explaining the value & consequences of voting No Award and nothing else, against voting No Award above other nominees in order of loathesomeness? I am seeing people saying "We must just vote No Award and leave the rest of the ballot blank!" and other people who want the same result (ie a victory for No Award over any other nominee) saying "No, we must rank all the nominees, below No Award!" and I think some elucidation from someone who knows what he's talking about would help extremely.

Thank you! That is ... eminently clear. And now I have somewhere to point people.

Shorter version: If you want a victory for No Award over any other finalist and dislike all of the other finalists equally, Mark No Award 1 and leave the rest of your ballot blank. That's the simplest version without any nuances.
