The promised heavy rain did show up last night, initially waking me up in the Rolling Stone but then sending me back to sleep. The forecast is for heavier rain tonight. Fortunately, the RV is proving water-tight.

Water-tight but not, presumably, sound-proof.

Nope, but that doesn't bother me. Rain on a metal roof is a sound I grew up listening to.

A corrugated iron roof is part of iconic Kiwi architecture. I'm always mystified by overseas people who think we "should" have tiles instead. We love our iron roofs. There is no more gorgeous sound in the rain.

Yep. Lisa reports that we're getting rain, not snow, at home, and consequently the front porch is covered with ice, which isn't much fun.
