kevin_standleeToday the shop in Reno called to let me know that they'd finished replacing the heater core and doing a complete coolant flush-and-replace on the Astro, and that I could come and get it. So after work, Lisa and I drove to Reno in the Rolling Stone, paid for the repairs, and Lisa drove the Astro home following me. We did no Reno-based errands, so we managed to get clear before the heavy commute traffic formed.
The cost: $830, of which around $600 was labor. Lisa apologized for not doing the work herself, but she has been sick, as of course so have I.
