SMOFCon Scholarships Moving Forward

We've selected our two SMOFCon Scholarship Recipients, they've accepted, and we've advised the other applicants that they were not selected. We'll have a formal announcement on this soon -- by the weekend. I think, or sooner if I can get it done and vetted by the appropriate people quickly enough.

It was a tough decision, let me tell you. The quality of applications was such that we really were sorry we only had two scholarships to give.

I hope that people who did not win this year will apply again should we offer another scholarship in the future.

The Giants finally managed to win a game instead of getting blown out.

We're still something of a long shot, but not out of it yet. I've suddenly become a fan of Arizona (playing the San Diego Padres tonight) and Pittsburgh (playing the LA Dodgers). Go Diamondbacks and Pirates!
