Please Don't Be Flu

I am not feeling very well today. I'm ambulatory, sort of, as long as I don't do anything too quickly, and I'm thinking reasonably straight, but it's a bad idea for me to be away from a bathroom for long. I was planning to go to the office today, but I got permission to work from home again today. As long as I just sit here at the computer I'm okay. In fact, I probably look okay, my icon here to the contrary. I started feeling a bit woozy just before going into the shower, and I finished getting dressed for work before deciding that it would be unwise, particularly because Menlo is pretty generous about letting me work from home.

I had a flu shot last month. I do very much hope I'm not coming down with a (probably SMOFCon-spread) bug of a different strain.

Why Having a Two-Bath Apartment is Good

One of the two toilets here is not draining properly, even after applications of some pretty nasty chemical solutions. (Neat sulfuric acid, anyone?) Looks like we get to call the plumber again, only this time it will probably be at our cost. (The common drain for the kitchen plumbing clogged up last week. We're on the ground floor of a three-story building. The plumber determined that the blockage was in the common pipes. The condo association gets billed for that.) Still, I suppose if one is going to have plumbing issues, you could do worse than for them to happen at 10 AM on a weekday instead of at 11 PM on a Saturday, when they seem most likely to me.
