Sticky Information

When I re-entered the USA at LAX on Sunday, I dutifully declared the food items I had brought with me: chocolate, coffee, and tea, none of which raised any hackles of the customs/ag inspector. I asked if Australian honey was indeed on the banned list, and the inspector said that he knew of no such ban and would have passed any honey I'd brought with me. I guess the guy in the honey store was wrong. Too bad! There are some nice specialty honey types I would have liked to have brought home from Australia to give as gifts.

Fits and Starts

The reason I really hate getting a chest cold is that it turns into chronic bronchitis and usually stays with me for weeks. Right now, combined with residual jet-lag, it means that I can only sleep for two or three hours at a time before coughing myself awake for a while. Thank goodness I've been able to work from home all this week. Just walking out to the mailbox this afternoon left me feeling weak and dizzy. I hope to be on my feet sufficiently by Monday to be able to do things like go to the office and to BASFA.
