Unsatisfactory Shopping

We returned to Reno on Friday afternoon to complete our shopping. I needed both paper and ink for my printer. I had a "curbside" (actually, I went inside and collected it) order from Cost Plus World Market. We had bottles to return to Whole Foods Market. And we wanted to buy something from one of the restaurants inside the Atlantis Hotel. Lisa suggested that we buy a whole cheesecake from the Manhattan Deli. But to do so requires you to go inside the hotel, and you have to go through thermal scanner to do so. The man running it mumbled unintelligibly at Lisa and she said, "Never mind" and we left. Then it was down to Raley's for the main shopping. By then it was so late that I asked Lisa to drive us home, which was easier for her because I still am getting up at 4:30 AM on work days and she doesn't need to do so.

There has been a lot happening with Worldcon while I was busy working and shopping, but I'm not going to write about it yet. I was up much too late with the shopping, phone calls about Worldcon, and trying to catch up on news about it when I got home and had dinner. Reaction will have to wait. I'm not really directly part of it anyway.

Good luck with the Worldcon business! People I read on Twitter are unhappy about it (mostly about the 4-name limit on Hugos and continuing issues with diversity and representation) and glad that one of the co-chairs resigned.
