I have not been having a very good week here at Fernley House. This afternoon, while coming down the stairs, I missed the next-to-last step and went sprawling into a heap after bouncing off the bookshelf at the base of the stairs. I'm not seriously hurt — the worst was a bit of carpet-burn from when I broke my fall with my right hand — but it's certainly annoying.
