About Time for Snow
Feb. 15th, 2022 12:10 pmThis morning I came to work with a couple of surprises.
( Food for Thought )
The second wasn't really a surprise, as I'd been watching the weather forecast.
( First Snow of 2022 )
This snow was pretty wet, and it quickly turned to ice. I did not go out into it, but Lisa did, and put down ice-melt on the sidewalk and swept the snow off the porch. The weather wasn't cold enough for the snow to stick to the roads, but it did to the sidewalk. By noon, however, air temperatures had done back above freezing and anything that wasn't in a sheltered area had already melted.
There was some snow in the mountains as well, which was enough to bring the chain controls up on I-80. It probably wasn't very much, and I'm sure it's not enough. We need a series of very wet winters to recharge our aquifers.
