You _Can_ Get the Wood -- At a Price
Feb. 23rd, 2022 07:15 pmWe got a tiny bit of snow overnight, but barely enough to notice; however, it stayed below freezing all day and the wind started to blow, which sucks the heat right out of the house.
While getting some groceries at Grocery Outlet yesterday, I noted that they had about half a pallet of a different brand of pressed-sawdust firelogs. Lisa and I went over there today after I got off work and bought some.
( Stopgap Firewood )
This brings the wood box back up to two-thirds full. We tested out one bundle this evening, and they do work, but five of the small logs appear to last less time than three of the Pres-to-Logs. However, the weather is forecast to get warmer, which is good because we really did need to burn quite a bit of wood today to stay warm.
We plan to try and burn the Press-to-Logs first so that if we have any wood left to hold over for next autumn, it will be the wrapped Sis-Q-Logs, which will make them less susceptible to damage. You can't let water get at any of these logs or they will melt like the Wicked Witch of the West.
