Today is my only full day in downtown Montreal post-SMOFCon, as I have to move hotels out to the airport tomorrow. I was not hugely ambitious, but did manage to tick a few boxes.

Dining and Shopping )

After my morning shopping trip, I dropped my purchases back at the hotel and went to the Eaton Centre, where I knew there was a Lush store. I am running low on some of the things like my after-shave ointment, and the promised store in Reno hasn't opened yet. The nearest store to my home is in Roseville, which is on the other side of the mountains. While I can and do purchase Lush products online, knowing that there was an actual store nearby meant I could go have a look for myself. Even better, I found that the prices here in Canada (even including the taxes) are lower (net of exchange rates, of course) than they are back home. The clerk asked why I was in Montreal, and when I explained, she volunteered that she had attended the 2009 Montreal Worldcon and enjoyed it.

I went back to the hotel for a while, did some Day Jobbe stuff (part of the deal with my manager for me taking the days off, and a good thing too because otherwise I would have had no computer at all with me during the trip), then dozed for a while before dinner rolled around.

To the Sea )

It wasn't that late (compared to the last few nights during SMOFCon) when I got back to the hotel, but I had to spend an hour or so finishing up the Day Jobbe stuff. Tomorrow, I can sleep in a little, go get a final Eggspectation breakfast, then pack and store my things with the hotel after checking out, then figure out how to spend part of the day without getting drenched (the forecast being for rain all day) before heading out to the airport hotel tomorrow night.
