Boil Report: Still Infected
Sep. 13th, 2024 02:51 pmI woke up at 3 AM this morning, after having gone to bed around 4 PM yesterday. That turned out to be a good thing, as it meant I could put in a half-day at work. During our morning meeting, I told my co-workers that I was going to take a half-day off because I'd not been able to make an appointment at the Urgent Care clinic, so I'd likely be there for a while. It turns out I was right.

Feeling a fair bit better, and no longer dripping blood down my leg, I was sent off around four hours after I initially arrived, so taking that half-day off was indeed the right thing to do. Per the doctor's directions, I made an appointment to come back on Sunday morning for another wound check.
Then it was over to the nearby Walgreens to collect the new prescription, and then go home. Unfortunately, I didn't read the directions on the prescription until after I'd had lunch. The antibiotics say no dairy products within two hours of taking a dose, so I had to wait at least two hours before I could take the the first does. I won't make that mistake again.
After lunch, I changed out of my once-again blood-stained pants and into my shorts. (The shorts, and the fact that my chair in our living room allows me to sit in ways that don't put pressure on the wound, in a way that the driver's seat of my minivan does not, are why I haven't been spilling more blood.) I treated the bloodstains again and put them back into the washer for another solo cold-water, heavy-detergent, extra-rinse cleaning. I'll need to buy another pre-treatment stain stick on my next shopping trip for such things.
I had hoped to spend some of that half-day off sleeping, but it couldn't be helped. At least I have no commitments (other than the follow-up medical appointment) this weekend.
